Somehow, between my Groundhog Day (remember that movie? Never listened to "I Got You Babe" again) musings and Supreme Court bewilderment, I glossed right over what today is: the Illinois primary.
This has been a dirty one, as politics in that state often are. Check out this ad for evidence of how brutal the Democratic primary has been.
Politico has kicked off its 2010 Campaign Page, with plenty on this, including a blurb about how the black community became the ping pong ball in the Gubernatorial race.
Interestingly, this bruising primary may become the secondary story if, as is expected, a Republican wins Barack Obama's senate seat. Chew on this: After the first Tuesday in November, Republicans could hold Obama's seat, Ted Kennedy's seat and Harry Reid's seat.
Anyway, should be a fun day.
Also, one more interesting poll I came across, but should not be taken too seriously because he hasn't declared, shows Dino Rossi leading Senator Patty Murray within the margin.
