Here are the links:
  • It is so far nearly impossible to gauge to death and destruction totals in Haiti, where many are living at the airport. Hilary Clinton cut a trip short to coordinate the aid effort. The 82nd Airborne is headed there as well. Some good news, or encouraging at least, is that in the last 39 hours or so, thanks to that text message donation plan, more than $3 million has been raised.
  • Forgot to post this, but in an update from my Juarez post, Mexico had a disgusting 69 murders on Saturday alone. The headline on Monday's Washington Express was "24 Hours, 69 Murders". Juarez itself accounted for 26 of them, as the become more gruesome. DO NOT READ THIS IF YOU CAN'T HANDLE A GRAPHIC IMAGE - One man was murdered, had his face peeled off and sewn to a soccer ball. Another police officer's body was found in two different ice chests. Sometimes, beyond the violence itself, it is beyond me to think people have the capacity to do something like this.
  • Harold Ford, who registered to vote in New York seven weeks ago, is turning the Senate race against appointee Kirsten Gillibrand into a circus.
  • Sarah Palin and Glenn Beck get together.
  • This fight between Google and China could set the landscape for how other internet companies deal with the Great Firewall.
  • Don't like the numbers? Change 'em.
