Some new polling is out on the health care bill. Don't know how to read it? Neither do I. Just know that it isn't good for proponents of bill passage.
That said, President Obama kept tightening the screws around Senate democratic leadership yesterday.
Check out this lengthy list of House Democrats slamming the Senate for "dithering". Seriously, however, they are right. The House has passed probably two of the most controversial bills in decades (health care and cap-and-trade), while the Senate has, well, dithered.
Speaking of controversial bills, you might remember the Patriot Act. Shocking that its renewal has been delayed by a particular House member from California with a catchy title. Speaker or something...
Your guess is as good as mine as to how Fed Chair Ben Bernanke is Time Magazine's "Person of the Year." Doesn't almost losing your job sort of taint that? In all seriousness, how is it not Sarah Palin? Was anyone else more prevalent? Yeah, I said it.

And finally, it was a big week for the gay community, as first, the city of Houston became the largest city to elect an openly gay mayor and the District of Columbia city council passed a bill allowing same-sex marriage.
