Election day. So vote. Actually, if you're in Washington State, you hopefully already have, seeing as how you need to have that dropped in the mail.
Not too much from the day, except a couple of links I will share with you, and a quick glance at the races everyone is really watching around here.
Corzine vs. Christie in New Jersey. The incumbent Democrat, Corzine, has spent north of $30 on this race, and it appears as if it will push him over the top. Probably the most interesting, and somewhat new, occurrence to date has been the subtle poking at Christie's weight by Corzine's campaign. As you can see, Chris Christie isn't the smallest guy. It led to Christie himself saying the other day that Corzine should just come out and call him fat. It's been interesting.
In Virginia, however, things got hot for a while. It was a while ago that Republican Bob McDonnell's graduate thesis was uncovered, detailing some intense views on the "place" of women in our society. His excuse: I was young. Reality: He was 34. Moving on. The problem was that Democrat Creigh Deeds didn't just take that and run with it, he made it his entire campaign. There was nothing with Deeds' name on it that wasn't negative. Voters don't like that, especially since it also means Deeds' isn't talking about himself. So, chalk it all up to a double-digit lead for McDonnell in every poll. Gov. Tim Kaine came out yesterday pointing out that McDonnell, who is the AG, fought him on his first executive order - for workplace gender-based equality. And Deeds ran the best ad he's run all campaign last week, with Obama, about two months too late. He will lose.
Then there is the special election in the NY-23 district. Boy, has this been fun. The Democrat is Bill Owens. Honestly, no one has really heard much about him recently. He maintains the lead in most polls, but is slowly losing it because of the recent activity. The Republican was Dede Scozzafava. YES! Checked and I spelled her name right. It's pronounced like it looks too. Anyway, she was backed by the party, the Rep. Leader John Boehner, the works. Then a guy named Doug Hoffman got involved, along with a women you may have heard of: Sarah Palin. She not only endorsed Hoffman, but stumped for him. Then other conservatives came on board and the rift between the conservative lean of the Republican party and the moderate one, represented by Scozzafava, became very clear. Things got a little ugly. And Scozzafava dropped out over the weekend. But there was a catch. She did something somewhat shocking: endorsed Owens. So, should some of her votes actually go to him, Owens could still actually win. Probably the most interesting race to talk about today. Blame John McHugh, the former Rep. of this district and current Secretary of the Army. He made this all necessary.
Obviously there are many questions about whether this is a referendum on President Obama. I don't think so. Amongst many many other reason, history shows that people vote differently in state elections than in federal ones. Same with locals. It just works that way. Also, because it doesn't look like there will be sweeping changes, other than a party change in Virginia.

Media Matters does good stuff, this website showing where conservative groups get their money.
This guy is an American citizen. In fact, he is exactly what being an American is all about: prosperity.
Anyone who cares anything about women's basketball probably still doesn't know who this guy is. But he was the Don of the sport as far as successful, well-paid players were concerned. He was the subject of a very good Sports Illustrated piece last year.
This didn't actually happen, but it would've be interesting if it had. Instead, Boxer hung out in room, still is actually.
I'll be here all night, watching results.
