Morning y'all. Debatable whether it will still be morning when this is actually posted, but rest assured it was started in the morning.
UPDATE: Yeah, that morning thing was a pipe dream.
As I sit here, Vikings-Packers in the background, the preparation for one of the bigger days since I've been here continues. Tomorrow is a huge lobby day on the Hill.
Our entire staff takes meetings on the Hill, along with executive directors from around the country and in conjunction with business leaders from across the country. Literally hundreds of meetings with take place tomorrow. Some I will sit in to be a part of, some to do some media stuff for us.
These meetings are so important. If nothing else they are a chance for the members or their staff to air out their issues with the legislation so it can be fixed. It is a major part of the lobbying process.
It starts at about 8 am and ends when it ends. Long day ahead for sure. My day will start around five, because I need to work out. And it will end past midnight because a day away from the office means I'll have some catching up to do and there also happens to be a pretty big baseball game on tomorrow night.
That is a mini-catch up on what is going on. I may try to blog as I go tomorrow, but I will definitely try to Tweet.
Also, I'm about to add some cool stuff from the weekend.
For now, some links:
Ken Griffey Jr. If it is really over, what a career.
It would be amazing if Republicans literally fought with each other in 2012.
Democrats may really be onto something, attacking the GOP for being positively giddy that Chicago did not get the Olympics, just because it makes the president look bad. This is, obviously, politics, but really bad politics. Of course, this is also Harry Reid. Recently someone said that he was soft and that Nancy Pelosi should, "loan him some ****." Just sayin'.
Female basketball officials have become common, but in football? This is new. And very encouraging.
Wanted to add a video we are pushing out from the NRDC on the ill effects of carbon on the ocean.
More later.
