Labor Day weekend wrap

Hi all,

Just felt like it had been a while since I've been on here. Really been focusing a lot of attention on this sports blog, JBJ Sports. Check it out if you get a chance.

Pretty cool weekend in college football. There is a bar pretty close to my house where the UW Alumni Association members in the area get together to watch games. I seem to have forgotten the difference between the average fan and those of us who are used to watching games in the press box, where screaming, throwing things, swearing loudly and speaking ignorantly are generally not accepted. Also, I just don't really cheer anymore.

It was a good football game though. And the camera shaking noise in the stadium made me miss the day going up the elevator hours before kickoff of a Husky football game almost as much as the shots from Alki, Kerry Park, Beacon Hill and the Space Needle made me miss Seattle.

As I write this I am watching the episode of West Wing near the end of season seven where Sam basically forces Josh to take a vacation. It is making me think of the next time I might be in that state. The recess ends today and Congress is back tomorrow, ready to renew battles on healthcare and energy. This could be an ugly fall and the heavy, dark rain that is currently coming down, for the next week, just seems an omen.

President Obama will make his intentions known in a speech and Senators Boxer and Markey will drop the energy bill sometime in September. This promises to be one of the busiest months I've ever had. That seems right on par for September as this was the month I usually pulled extremely long hours in the athletic department. Just have to get fired up for it!

One big piece of news is that Joe Kennedy will not seek his uncle's Senate seat.

I will get back on schedule tomorrow with how much writing I do and try to have some more informative stuff. Hope everyone had a great labor day!
